Hannah Peel, TONN Recordings and Women’s Work Festival are delighted to announce the first NI Electronic Workshop

A brand-new opportunity has been established for aspiring and active electronic women artists and producers in NI.

The workshop will deliver techniquesnew equipment, guidance and inspiration for selected artists to help develop their creative process. It will include focus on analogue synthesiscomposition, recordingproduction and mixing

Four individuals will be selected to participate in sessions commencing in August.

Led by Hannah Peel, an award-winning composer, musician and electronic producer based in Northern Ireland, new compositions will be created and developed with guidance from Hannah and other sonic experts including Julie McLarnon at Analogue Catalogue Studios

Upon completion of the productions, the artists will have their music released on a debut NI Electronic Workshop compilation in association with Belfast-based experimental electronic label TONN Recordings run by Mary McIntyre. The release will be supported by a special launch event at Sound Of Belfast Festival 2021

The aim of the programme is simple; to provide tools, encouragement and space for the next generation of female electronic pioneers to realise their potential.

Applications are open now and close on June 20th at the end of the Women’s Work festival.

Successful applicants will be announced early July 2021
